Anthony Moore prosecuted a man charged with ‘stalking’ and ‘perverting course of justice’ offences at Bradford Crown Court. The defendant, who was a friend of the complainant, impersonated her ex-boyfriend online and also sent her malicious cards. This led to the ex-boyfriend being arrested on five occasions, including for breach of a non-molestation order. It was only after the ex-boyfriend’s ‘phone and financial and social media records were examined that it became clear that he had not been involved. Further investigations led police to the defendant.
The defendant was sentenced to 16 months immediate custody on 05/11/24.
