Robert Skyner Secures Another Holiday Illness Settlement
Working alongside Instructing Solicitor Anthony Wardle of Abbey Solicitors, Robert Skyner has successfully secured settlement for a British woman who contracted an illness whilst on holiday in Cuba.
The settlement is particularly notable given that Thomas Cook Tour Operations Limited had defended the Claim aggressively and accused the Claimant of fraud and exaggeration. The Claim settled at the doors of court moments before the trial was due to commence.
The Claimant contracted a severe gastro-intestinal illness on the fifth day of a fourteen day holiday, and on the morning of her son’s wedding. Following recovery from the acute phase of her illness she was left with long lasting symptoms which were ongoing but not classified as justifying a clinical diagnosis of post-infective irritable bowel syndrome.
Further details of the settlement are covered by a confidentiality agreement.
This is the fifth claim that Robert has been involved in which has settled in the past 10 days and shows the benefits of the close working relationship that many members of Chambers have with Instructing Solicitors.
